Belize Eye Glass Team 2418 February 17-24 2024

 We woke to a steady rain and overcast skies. A breakfast of eggs and bacon was enjoyed before starting our morning work. Suitcases with 3500 pairs of glasses had to be unpacked and sorted; supplies for each day were separated. Although some of our team had clinic experience, we all needed to practice the testing and distribution. We laughed as we learned.

 Darcy, our team leader, met us at the Dallas Fort Worth Airport.  Most of our team had been on the go since the crack of dawn,; however, we were excited to meet for the first time.  Once in Belize we navigated customs and began the 1 1/2 ride to St.Ignace.  Our host Euclid guided us to our motel…all of us ready for dinner then bed.

Team 2418 - staying in San Ignacio 2/17-24   Belize Facts that May Surprise You: Was colonized by Great Britain.  National Animal is the Tapir.  Has UNESCO World Heritage Site.  English is the official language.  103 Protected Areas.   

 Team 2418 is packed and ready to head into adventure on Saturday morning.
